About Me

I’ve always been passionate about writing, whether it was Myst fanficton in middle school or Lord of the Rings fanfiction in high school or everything in between in college. My passion for historical fantasy came while pursuing my Master’s in Medieval History in York, England: I loved seeing the blend of real, ancient sites with local fantasy and folklore. Completing my degree and taking on a career in genealogy kept my feet on the ground, but the imaginative works of Terry Pratchett, Catherine Jinks, and Naomi Novik always kept my head in the air.

Encouraged by my husband and a ceaselessly supportive writers’ group, I’ve spent years honing my craft to make history and fantasy collide in new and exciting ways. Writing has brought me closer to friends as well as being a friend to me: it’s helped me cope with family struggles, postpartum, and the journey of motherhood. I sincerely hope readers who are looking for grounded yet fantastical adventures will enjoy my work!
